...and from Shirley, Jayne's mother-in-law
A cold and grey February day; snow is falling now. It is time for quiet reflection on the busy life of Jayne with a cup of coffee by my side.
We often joked that it might have been Jayne who opened the coffee shop on Blackheath Station: she loved Blue Mountain!
Jayne had a gift for communication, and over the 18 years we knew her she sent us many notes and cards following various get-togethers, outings and holidays, not forgetting exciting culinary events at no. 3.
Philip encouraged Jayne in all she did and was keen to further her globetrotting. Postcards arrived from around the world. Their beautiful photographs were quickly titled and displayed well in albums. Precious memories indeed.
I still have some of Jayne's articles - here are two that make me smile:
"Mobilise your face -- yawn, chew and open and close your mouth like a goldfish."
"O is for otorhinolaryngologist, short for ear, nose and throat specialist. As an exercise to improve your muscular flexibility, try singing "I am the very model of a modern speech pathologist. If I had been a boy I'd be an otolaryngologist."
